About us

TheKompany.com is a group of advanced developers from around the world. Our goal is to provide users of Linux, Windows and Mac Os X with powerfull easy-to-use tools in developement enviroments, home offices and more.

We assemble developers and developement tools from all over the Internet and open source community and, then make a uniform easy-to-use system out of those resources.

Because of our background in developement softweare we are acutely aware of gaps and weaknesses in existing softweare. We are also aware of the need for programs that work accross multiple platforms, to allow users to freely choose what operating system they wish to use.

We're developers ourselves, and we began making these tools to make our work easier. We whant to share with you the fruits of our work.

About Aethera

Even thou it originated as an email client at the time of this current release Aethera has turned into a more general application that falls (largely) in the category of PIMs (Personal Information Manager). Having originated from an email client the Aethera email plug in supports all the standards email protocols such as POP3, IMAP for storing, retrieving and importing mail from other mail clients.

But... Aethera does not stop here. Because it is a plug in based application Aethera is able to offer other productivity tools such as an extensive AddressBook system that contains far more than a name and email address.

The very sophisticated plug in system allows for very easy and rapid development of new modules. A perfect example of this is the calendar and scheduling portion of Aethera. In full cooperation with the KOrganizer developers we have abstracted a multi-platform layer that allows us to easily integrate it into Aethera as a native component. KOrganizer has some great features, not the least of which is the fact that it uses iCalendar and vCalendar as its native file formats. As these are industry standards now, it makes importing from another PIM pretty trivial. With the KOrganizer you get calendar, alarms, to-do lists, web export abilities as well as the ability to customize the environment (does your week start on Monday or on Sunday?)

Among other great plug ins Aethera offers a computerized version of Post-it notes in the form of the Notes Plugin. This is the prefect tool for quickly organizing your thoughts.

Aethera is cross-platform which means that you and your co-workers will be able to use Aethera even if you don't share the same passion for one operating system. Currently Aethera has been ported to Windows and several Linux boxes. We expect soon to release the Machintosh version.
